HISTORY

The saga of a family passion

Land, vine and wine have been the pillars of the family for five generations; after agronomist studies and various work experiences as a consulting engineer, I chose to return to the land to assist my father, take over the Domaine and write a new chapter in the history of our estate.

LOCATION & SOIL

21 ha of vineyards around Turquant, a winemaking village also known for its troglodytes.

The vineyard, located on the Appellation d’Origine Controllée  "Saumur-Champigny" area, benefit from an ideal landscape : protected by the national forest of Fontevraud-l’Abbaye and the Loire river, it enjoys exceptional sunshine and mild weather.
The Romans named this land “champigny” or "field of fire" because of this remarkable microclimate. Today this vineyard has been chosen to represent the Loire valley under UNESCO’s World Heritage listing.
The soil is composed of a warm mix of clay and limestone over tufa rock whichabsorbs winter rain, and slowly releases  it during summer.

This exceptional terroir is home to two grape varieties: Cabernet Franc for our red wines and Chenin for our white wines.

EXPERTISE

Tradition and respect for the environment for future generations

We have dedicated our efforts to gradually improving the vineyard (grassing/cover crop, green harvests and thinning)  to fully unlock the potential of the terroir.

We are deeply committed to a sustainable approach to viticulture. We adhere to the biodiversity development program promoted by the AOC Saumur Champigny winegrowers' union. We have been awarded the HVE (High Environmental Value) label since the 2019 vintage and are currently undergoing organic conversion. Our first organic cuvée will be released in 2023.
